redwork snowmen

I have 7 of my snowmen done! Only 5 more to finish by July!!! How do you quilt redwork? I hadn't thought of that before now and I've been wondering about it. I'm going to set the blocks together with one inch sashing, I have to find fabric so that means a road trip! I've been having quilt shop withdrawal; I feel the need to fondle fabric. I think I'll have to plan a trip for next week. Something to look forward too!!!

Hi Cynthia,
I've done a bit of redwork and the quilting depends on the quilt. On wallhangings I typically only quilt the borders unless it's very large. On quilts I (most of the time) do a cross hatch up to but not on the redwork itself. Sometimes I do a Baptist Fan, also up to the redwork but not on it. Love the snowmen!

Hi Cynthia, many compliments for your UFO-done!
Your blog it is real fun: I recognise myself and all my "I-wanna-do-I-really-have-to" quilts projects!!! Not so many as yours, indeed, but I am just a baby quilter (started on 2007, 22th of January.
Happy Quilting from Italy!

Love your blog :) I have done a few Redwork quilts and own a couple of antique Redwork quilts , what I do on mine ( copied from the Antique ones ) is a simple cross hatching pattern.
